Week 39 update (July 15th)

6 days to go!!!

Just wanted to update everyone quickly...

I went to the dr this morning (week 39 check-up) and was advised that nothing had changed with this little one. She's still as high up as can be with no signs of coming down at all. So.... get yourselves ready for her arrival on the 21st!!!!

The dr agreed with me that she's growing - he is always in disbelief of how much baby I am! It's crazy that each day I wake up bigger than I thought I ever could be - so, I'm anxious what her size will be.

All right family, this is the last update until her arrival!!!!

Love,
A+J+????? Bailey

07.09.10 Update

Update from yesterdays apt (July 8th) --

Well... sadly this little girl hasn't budged any further down than last weeks visit. She has a LONG
ways to come down before being "engaged".

So, currently this is the plan -- I will go in for my 39 week check on the 15th as scheduled - she still could drop (should that apt indicate that she has, then plans could change). Otherwise, the plan is for me to have her on JULY 21st by c-section!!! Now the positive news is that Dr. H would be doing the c-section (he is my dr and my favorite -- and did my last laparoscopy procedure - which always reassures things). So, I feel that for right now this is the plan that's meant to be for us. It is still possible that I could go into labor on my own, and they would then need to determine if she is low enough at that time or not, etc., This little one has sure kept us on our toes throughout the past few months - but we are anxious to meet her, hold her, ooh and aah over her, and love her more than anything in the world!!!

That's the plan so I just wanted to let you all know!!

I think our family's new favorite # is the 21st = the day that we were married and the day that we will welcome our daughter into our arms -- I love it!!

xoxo,
A+J+???? :)

37 week update (from July 1, 2010)

Well... I will be 37 weeks on Saturday -- and, it's JULY which means we get to meet this precious little thing SOON!! I've definitely learned that I can take on pregnancy up until about week 34 - then, I'm not so much a fan of it! Any how, I just got back from the dr office - didn't really hear the news that I was hoping for. She is not as low as they would like her to be which is causing no pre-labor signs at all!! Usually a baby is in position (low) causing dilation, etc., by week 38 for sure (or, ahem, usually by now!) - so.. this chick better get movin!! I do NOT want her to stay in this position as that would result in a c-section. Pray that she gets a movin and a shakin and starts getting lower!!

My swelling is getting worse and worse so they will keep watching that as well and want me to call if it gets drastic (which I feel it already is - ha!). When the dr thinks it's bad at 9:45am, he should see what it's like by 7pm!!

Any ways... just wanted to update you all - we'll learn a LOT at next week's visit on Thursday - let's hope it's all good!!

PS: Little stinker scared the heck out of us too by positioning herself so we couldn't hear her heart for a bit too - I tell ya, she sure likes to put me in a tizzy!!

She's.... growing!!!

Yesterday we had baby girl checked out again. This appointment was filled with GOOD news!! Baby girl got measured at a whopping 5lbs 8oz -- (35th percentile). And, my fluids just keep getting better (yes, I am making sure I'm well hydrated these days).
This little miss passed her tests and gave no reason for any concern. She looked cute as ever with her hands up by her face and her little ankles crossed - like always!!
So, the dr felt that everything looked really good and there no need for concern. Now, I just need her to get lower - so that I can be reassured that she will "fit". Then we will really be doing well. Otherwise, I am a regular patient and scheduled my weekly visits for the next 4 weeks -- cRaZy!!!

Today the final piece of the nursery came (the glider) so we will have to post pictures soon of her amazingness of a room - lucky girl!!
And tomorrow we will be showered with love -- two showers in one day, I'm tired out just thinking about all the festivities! ;) Definitely have one spoiled little girl here.

I'm doing well - am excited to think that one month from tomorrow is her due date! But, I'm definitely feeling more and more ready to go as the days go by - this really just started within the past week. Between this horrendous heart burn and my swollen shrek-like feet/ankles, I'm ready to be "normal" again! One month to go, one month to go!!

Ok, I'm out for the night!!

Don't worry, we are still here!!

Well, well, well.... it's amazing to look back and realize that it's been 5 weeks since my last post - yowza! Life has been crazy, crazy busy! So, it's a good thing that nobody knows about this blog yet, right? ;)

Onto the important thing in our life: our precious little peanut! Can you believe it, I am over 35 weeks along?!? That means less than 5 weeks to go!! I really, truly cannot believe how fast and amazing this journey has been so far -- and to think that the best is yet to come. So, I first want to take a look back on this journey to fill you all in.

The fun little details:

11.10.09 -- Who knew that seeing a pink little line appear across a plastic stick you pee on (sorry, it's the truth) could change your life forever!! Yes, it's true, we are having a baby!! And, I must be honest and say that J did NOT believe it until the following day.... oh that Hubby!

11.19.09 -- Went to the dr and had blood work - yep, officially "preggo"

12.1.09 -- First ultrasound - we saw our little Miracle -- and that is why I called the baby "Mira" for the first few months - it really was an amazing miracle that we had created this life with one another. A+J+Baby began! I was 6 weeks and 3 days along, given a due date of 7.24.10

12.15.09 -- Second ultrasound - baby was still there, amazing that this little Mira would become our child!

1.5.10 -- We heard that little heart beating away! And, we were told that Mira was very active! Actually, the nurse couldn't give us what the heart rate was because Mira wouldn't stay in place long enough to figure it out :)

2.8.10 -- J & I went to Arizona to visit Granny. While on our way to Granny's house, our taxi cab driver decided to pay attention to his GPS rather than the traffic ahead - well, he rear-ended the car ahead of us!! So....
2.9.10 -- went to the ER to get Mira checked, I just needed to be reassured that this "baby" was ok in there... well, the ultrasound lady wouldn't let J in the room - boo! So, once she told me that she was 99% sure she knew the sex of our baby, I asked her to write it on a piece of paper so that J & I could open it together (oh, and I haven't mentioned -- I was CONVINCED that Mira was a BOY!! there was no question in my mind). Well... we had a date night later that day and J first opened the piece of paper and managed to not give me any sort of reaction at.all! So... the paper was passed across the table to me - needless to say, my jaw is still on the floor in that restaurant as I was not expecting it to say GIRL!!??!! And, I was in such shock that I continued to believe that the ultrasound lady did.NOT.know.what.she.was.doing! Yep, that means we kept it quiet that we had known what we were having!!

2.22.10 -- We had the regular scheduled level 2 ultrasound. First of all, this baby would NOT cooperate and let us see that precious little face, they tried forever to get Mira to turn and show that face but those little arms and hands kept waving around keeping that beautiful little profile a secret from us - little stinker!! So... no cute profile pic of this baby - but, at least there was no hiding the fact, that we were officially having a..... GIRL!!!!! Onto the shopping!! J had no idea what he was going to be in for with being the only man in the house - hee hee... let the fun begin!!

3.24.10 -- We had a fetal echocardiogram done on Baby Girl to make sure that everything was there and working properly - now... the good thing was that we got a precious photo of baby girls profile -- hooray! Now, the only problem was that Baby Girl decided to be a stinker AGAIN!! She decided to already practice "tummy time" - this means that she wouldn't get off of her tummy. So... the only way that they could see her heart was through her spine, however, that was shadowing her heart - so.... she proved that she holds the power AGAIN! We didn't get to see as much of that heart as we had hoped, but it was enough to know that her little heart would keep on melting ours...

6.10.10 -- Ultrasound day! The dr wanted to check on Baby Girl to see her size and be sure that she was going to "fit" on delivery day. We found out that she was measuring at 4lbs 4oz (24th percentile). The down side to the apt was that they measured my amniotic fluid low - boo! They had me do a non-stress test on Baby Girl to be sure that everything was ok with her - it took a little time, but she was in there and decided to stop being shy and give some good kicks, etc., I was then told to take it easy for the next few days and drink as many fluids as I possibly could and come back in a few days.

6.14.10 -- Had another ultrasound as little Baby Girl had to have some more testing done, she had to pass a breathing test, then they watched her to be sure that she moved so many times, etc., She passed very, very quickly. Then, I went and was hooked up again for the non-stress test which again she passed with flying colors!!! And then I got to meet with the dr. He addressed a slight concern with Baby Girl's weight and indicated that he would like to continue to keep watch of this little one and be sure that she would continue growing and that my levels stay where they are supposed to! Oh... I forgot to mention - my fluid levels were up where they should be too - woo hoo!

That's a very quick little journey down Baby Girl Lane!! I promise to do a better job at the updates!!

Lots of Love,
A+J+Baby Girl

Let's get this journey started!!

Welcome to our "Bloggin Baileys" website!!

I am going to begin this blog with an old Irish wedding blessing:

May God be with you and Bless you.
May you see your children's children.
May you be poor in misfortune, rich in blessings.
May you know nothing but happiness.
From this day forward.

This happens to be a very meaningful blessing - one that my Grandfather gave when he did the blessing at our wedding. You see, I was going to begin this blog on week 30 of my pregnancy. For quite some time I felt that week 30 would be a significant time to begin blogging our lives as we draw closer to becoming parents for the first time. However, as week 30 in the world of A+J+Baby Girl became a reality, we also were dealt with a very challenging part of life - something that I really haven't had to deal with before... loss.

My grandfather passed away on Saturday, which was my "week 30 milestone." While I've been mourning his loss, I've also had some time to sit and reflect on him and the beautiful memories that he has provided me to have -- and of those things, one that really stands out to me is his use of technology. My grandfather was amazing with technology!! As in: he.sent.us.e-cards!! Yes, I'm really not kidding. As a matter of fact, I'll never forget being at my grandparents for Thanksgiving and him asking my opinion on if he should purchase an unlimited amount of use per year from a particular site that he could send "amazing" ecards from -- and, from that day on, many of us have been blessed with his e-cards. (Easter, St. Patrick's Day, Anniversaries - ahem, even one week anniversaries ;) and the most special of all - a congratulations on what would have been great-grandbaby #4 for him and my grandmother -- and, that's just to name a few!!)

So, I felt that to honor my grandfather - what better way than to keep a blog!! And here in my attempt to try to catch up on technology Bloggin Bailey's begins -- and I know that he's proud and smiling down upon us as we journey this amazing time in our lives. I hope that I can make him proud!!

Love for now, A+J+Baby Girl
